This is a tough one. There are stages of review:

• Preliminary review to determine if there is a problem.
• Defining the problem and its boundaries.
• Testing and determining the remediation.

It can be frightening if you are not familiar with the issues, and I guarantee that you are not. The language and steps involved are baffling.

The real objective is to obtain the state’s approval – usually some kind of “no further action certificate.” This varies by state and issue. There is nothing to be frightened about; just move through the steps. That is why there is an escrow – so we can close the deal, which can take up to three years.

You must have a knowledgeable advisor and an excellent environmental consulting firm performing the work. We’ve been there.
